Hi ! I was a camper there I believe in the years of 1986, 1987 and 1988. They was some of my best memories of my childhood! I remember a pet deer that had been kept there. If I remember correctly its mother was killed. I cant remember the deers name but we all loved it! I remember my counselors, Janice, Julie. They used to stress the importance of personal devotions with God. She would wake up early before the campers and go to her special spot in the woods and just read Gods Word and meditate on Him. That stuck with me! The swimming and the target range the games and the campfire the songs ( I still remember the Camp Barakel song) all the great memories! Thanks for that! I also learned that glass is actually liquid! The windows in the old chaple were old bus windows and the bottom was thicker then the top. I would love to return as an adult there one day. God truely has blessed that place.
