Camp Barakel Summer Staff - 2008

Summer service opportunities for college-age…

Serving as summer staff at Camp Barakel can be a life-changing opportunity. There are few times in a person's life when a whole summer can be given to service, and there are few places that stretch and mature us like summer camp. What a joy to love and lead a young person to a better understanding of the God of the universe.

Though abundant with influential opportunities, camp ministry demands many hard workers. Some of the positions available for the summer include:

#1 Counselors

For individuals at least one year out of High School willing to lovingly lead a group of campers.

#2 YAPS (Young Adult Program Staff)

For individuals just graduating from High School, this program might be just the place to serve.

Barakel has a long history of a real volunteer spirit; no one (not even the resident missionary staff) is paid a salary. "Christ's great sacrifice stirs the warm affections of our hearts so that we want to know Him", which includes knowing Him in dying to self and in service. You'll find that every staff person has a story about God's leading to come to Barakel, and how God actively provides for them.

College students who spend at least ten weeks at camp during the summer may qualify for an Educational Assistance Scholarship to help with college costs. In addition, some raise financial support to help meet their needs.
