Dads and sons, grandfathers and grandsons — come enjoy a weekend getaway-spend time together in God's creation, slow down a little and reflect on what God has said in His Word. Bring as many sons as you have, as long as they are at least six years of age.

The northern Michigan Januarys turn Camp Barakel into a winter playground, and give you and your sons (and/or grandsons) a lot to choose from —

Tubing (with a tow rope for pulling you back up)
Skating, Hockey
Broomball, Ice Bowling
Cross-Country Skiing, Snowshoeing
Ice Fishing
Gameroom
... or you can keep your toes warm by one of our fireplaces!

Our speakers for the 2009 chapel sessions are:

• January 9-11, Tom Harmon, itinerate preacher from Owosso, MI

• January 16-18, Jamey Nichols, Pastor, First Congregational Church, Stanton, MI.

• January 23-25 Our originally scheduled speaker, Dan Cummings, is quite ill with cancer. You can read his God-centered web log here. The journey has been difficult recently, and he is unable to be with us. In his place, we are pleased to have Mike Eleveld come and speak on The Fear of God—A Forgotten Discipline. Mike is currently in transition—he and his wife Diane are moving from 17 years of fruitful pastoral ministry at Berean Baptist Church in Portage, MI to serving as missionaries with ABWE. The Elevelds have three grown children, including one son.

Younger sons are given the opportunity of attending sessions designed just for them.

The fee is $175 for father and son, $75 for each additional son. A registration fee of $50 per person should be included with the registration form (with the balance due on arrival). If you need to cancel, the registration fee will be refunded if requested at least two weeks prior to the event.

The weekend begins Friday evening with Snow Valley open, and a buffet-style snack in the Dining Hall. Our time together will conclude with an early lunch on Sunday.
