College/Career Retreat Mar 4-6, 2011 ![]() WHY AND WHAT? God's created world is a beautiful place, but the ethical landscape of the secular world is a barren and weary path. People long for the cool shade of Jesus, and we want Camp Barakel to be an oasis — providing shade and "Living Water." Barakel's 350 acres await you. The program will be fun, and you can choose between being relaxed and being exhausted.

This event is designed for single people in the first decade after high school (though we welcome "early marrieds" and "thirtysomethings" too). The retreat will begin Friday evening and continue unhurried through the Sunday noon meal. SPEAKER? Our 2011 speaker is Doug Philips, from Lansing, MI. Doug loves the Bible because it reveals Jesus to us. He takes to heart what Ed Stetzer said: "Never preach a message that would still be true if Jesus hadn't died on the cross-- that's just giving advice." Doug loves explaining why we can rely on the Bible, and why Jesus matters. Come be encouraged and challenged from God’s Word. Doug’s blog. ’By Every Word...’ HOW MUCH? The fee is $80 if you are a full-time college student, $105 if you are not. We hope the price break will encourage our poorer friends to get a group and come! $50 of your fee should be sent in with your registration form — the balance is due on your arrival. If you are unable to attend, and let us know by February 18, we will refund your deposit.
