Bring some friends, or come by yourself. Choose from a whole lineup of activities on our 350 acres — or just enjoy not doing anything. Sometimes it's so quiet in northern Michigan you can almost hear yourself smile. Sometimes the laughter in your group leaves your sides hurting.

  • Kayaking, Canoeing, Paddle-Boating, and guided Pontoon Boat Tours on beautiful Shear Lake.
  • Hayride through Huron National Forest
  • A canoe trip down the historic AuSable River (additional fee).
  • Moutain Biking, Volleyball, Riflery, Archery, and Horizontal Bouldering Wall.
  • Nature Exploration around the lake.
  • Handcrafts (per project fee)
  • Take a ride on our 950’ zipline across scenic Snow Valley
  • The retreat will begin Friday evening and continue unhurried through the Sunday noon meal. Four chapel sessions are planned with the goal of presenting Jesus Christ as Creator, owner-of-all, and Savior.

    2010 Chapel Speakers:

September 24-26: Betty King, who comes to us from Northville, MI, is bright, cheerful and sensitive. She speaks the truth directly, and as a result has been a favorite here for more than 20 years. As a longtime Bible teacher, she knows the Lord and knows He is the answer to women’s needs. Her children are grown, but that doesn’t keep her from going down our Tubing Hill when she’s here in the winter.

October 1-3: Carrie Gaul serves as a biblical correspondent for the ministry Revive Our Hearts, as well as a Bible teacher, conference speaker, and author of Joy In The Midst a study of Philippians. She and her husband Dennis are blessed with two grown children and a daughter-in-law. Carrie has a passion to see women grow in intimacy with Jesus through the study and application of God’s Word.

October 8-10: Rosalie de Rosset is from Chicago, Illinois, where she is a much-loved professor and mentor at the Moody Bible Institute. Rosie has become a favorite at Ladies Retreats for her thoughtful and honest exposition of the Word of God, combined with clear application. The daughter of missionaries, Rosie was born and raised in Peru.
